Tagged the class artist in kindergarten, with that idea Lisa has always been smitten. Her maternal grandmother was a painter and ceramist. Her mother was a prolific sculptor and ceramist. Her father was a TV art director, starting when TV was new, working on such shows as The Soupy Sales Show, which Lisa sometimes watched from the peanut gallery.
Born in Detroit, she, two sisters and five brothers were raised in Bloomfield Twp., Michigan. She earned a BFA with a concentration in painting and sculptor from Wayne State University. Her professional career is Art Director/Creative Director for an advertising firm in Troy Michigan.
Lisa has participated in many art shows throughout Michigan including several appearances at Art Prize in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
"In my professional life I make connections between the look of things and the concepts behind them. This is also how I approach my painting, whether it is realist or abstract in style.
I like to find beauty in the everyday and in details. In the moment. I enjoy the playfulness of the material itself."
